I believe you only have to conform by law if you are designing sites for the American government or an American government funded agency - then you need to comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act (section 508). Don't know of any other law requiring standards meself but if there is I'm sure someone here will know For standards to follow you want http://www.w3.org - but then you knew that right? |
