Not a DW user myself, but I can't see it happening, especially if you mean xhtml strict.

Would recommend you learn how to code your markup manually anyway, it's the only way to go

DW will give you an xhtml transitional markup from what I remember. Though I'll be damned if I remember how, think you select it when you create a new file.

Use the damn help, mybe a tutorial or 2.

Hmm.... Yeah, your right about learning the language.

Reckon I'll look for a few XHTML tutorials on Google.

In dreamweaver

To convert an existing html document
File > Convert

To make a new xhtml document
File > New
then check the "Make document xhtml compliant" in the bot right corner

that's quite handy...updating 400+ sites won't be as bad as I thought.

Now...if we could only find a tool to convert an all tabular layout to CSS.

Funily enough, there is an option under modify > convert

But it's always greyed out - bah (stards)

DW MX... Modify > Convert > Tables to Layers

Hows that?

Synchroised posting leaves me feeling like an echo... I can un-grey it for ya though Switch to design view or mixed view and click in the wisiwyg/preview pane, then do it.

Not sure how good it is cos my CSS layout skills aren't up to scratch... appears okay on first glance though.

Oh - any other options you have that are greyed out - try clicking changing views for those too

Yuck! Tried it on a centered 3 column fixed-width design. Messy messy messy code.
