why do we do it?
design for crap browsers I mean... They dont build DVDs that run on VHS, so why dont we all just forget IE5mac and force the gits to move to safari if they want to read and navigate a website sigh |

But they do make vhs tapes for video - and dvds for dvd players. Some people don't have dvd players just like some don't have OSX. That's why we have to put up with it. Although IE5 is more like betamax. And I agree anyway. |

It depends on the audience. Once, my grandpa who is 85 tried to find arrival times for his local train station, but it didn't work. It should have, of course, but the designers/coders were lame. Also, if big money is involved (think pr0n, google, Microsoft), you'll want to maximise profits. It's not only software though. Videos too, indeed. And even lightbulbs. Darn, I can never find the one I need. -= In theory, theory should work in practice. =-

DVD's are built to run on crappy cheap DVD players and high-end expensive ones though, and some have extra features for PC users. Having said that i don't really worry about Opera any more, but a lot of people use IE for Mac so I force myself to test sites on it. |
