ive tried getting the background color on the page correct in the css file instead of the html file and can't get it to work.

Nice website. And I kinda see what you guys all meant about CSS being simpler. The code looks very neat. Sorry for being a noob all this while before.

umm actually the code is quite atrocious. br tags everywhere and using <span class="h2"> to specify a heading? each of the navigation elements are in its own div???

and why is there "<style css>" in the external css file?

Your coding seems neat to me. I think you should use external stylesheet instead. Your coding will be neater and easily readable.
