It's hard to figure out what you want done. All you write is "menu item", I can't figure out how exactly you want the dots to align or how you want the text to align. Try to draw an example using the actual menu list names you want.

I have in mine a few methods, but choosing the method requires me to know just exactly how you want things to align. Also if mouse rollovers are needed.

You could apply the dots as background images to one of your inline elements (a or span).

Or you could add an empty span at the end of each link with a background image.
