Microformats
www.microformats.org Let's talk about 'em. I have very little experience with them, though I get the basic concept - standardize the way common chunks of information are marked up. I.e. vcards, calendar items, etc. Seems like a good idea, though it does add quite a bit to your markup it seems. Anyway, discuss: |

Care to elaborate? The only thing that's holding me back is that they're obviously made by engineering types when I'm someone in between. Far too many acronyms. Like it's trying to be more technical and in-depth than it is... For instance: Extensible Open XHTML Outlines (XOXO) just seems to me to be semantic nesting of lists... |

Embedding meta-data that can be parsed programatically is good, but the way they are going about it is bad. It's like a poor mans XML substitute. That said I understand why they're doing it this way. |
