Seriously though, not all .uk addresses are .co.uk The controller of the .uk domain decides what sub-domains can exist and has assigned .co.uk for commercial organisations (equivalent to what .com is supposed to signify) .org.uk for non-profits .ac.uk for academic orgs .gov.uk for government etc. In many cases you will not be allowed to register one of those addresses unless you qualify so often .co.uk is then only option available within .uk
