Full-screen websites

First topic, so hey there everyone!

You know those sites that open full-screen, as in they TOTALLY fill your monitor? (E.g. http://www.darkimages.com/), just wondering if anyone knows how this can be done, really I was a .swf full-screen, but I'm thinking it would probably be easier to code the file into a HTML page then use some clever script to full-screen.

Please help someone! Many thanks.

Not my choice, that's how my boss wants it. Thanks a million for the link, been trying to find out how for some time.

At least try and educate your boss as to why that technique is annoying

Personally any site that pop ups full screen, gets immediately closed. No matter how good the site may have been, it doesnt get seen.

I agree. Anything that does not let me view the status bar or the taskbar at all time, will not get a second visit from me. Maybe offer an option: full screen or normal mode, but that means using a splash screen

same here, I normally end up closing it before anything has a chance to load.

exactly. don't 'yes sir' him. get a spine.

and if you're going to make a flash site (whoooo, look mum, my logo spins!) then please do not go full screen.
