Parallels, or VMWare... I have three instances of XP running in Parallels. One each for IE6, IE7, IE8

I haven't got a Mac but if I did then I think I would do that thing where you can install Windows 7 on it and it lets you use the applications (seemlessly) from OSX. That will let you test IE8, and Windows 7 then has XP Mode (Virtual PC) to let you test on IE6 and IE7. So it will be 2 VMs inside a VM, but all seemless within Mac OSX.

Cool, never saw that browser lab from Adobe, that's really handy. I might use that for some of the odder browsers.

I run Parallels and have XP and Win7 so I do that for IE, along with Chrome, Safari and Firefox.

i am biased but...

So first let me say I am a cofounder of crossbrowsertesting.com

So given that you can do cross browser testing using our service. You get a live session so is just not screenshots (we have those too).

You use VNC through a java applet (or you own VNC client like Jollys or Chicken of the VNC) to connect to our servers. We have lots of browser and OS combinations.

It is great if you have a mac because we have windows 98 all the way up to windows 7...

thanks!

^ It does look good, but for those prices it'd be a better investment to just buy a pc for testing.

Cross Browser Testing. Pick an OS, Pick a Browser, Test website

Sounds like a good service - much better than the screen shot options such as Browsershots and Gomez, can't get on with them myself.

Personally I use a couple of extra PCs - on one of those PCs I run Browser Sandbox - Run any browser from the web which is the best solution out there other than multiple machines BUT doesn't run on Mac :/.

If you're still using a rather old mac, that is, one using a powerpc processor, microsoft makes a free virtual pc tool, it'll let you create a virtual machine of everything from 95-vista. It's called Microsoft Virtual PC (they're not really good with coming up with names, Internet Explorer, Windows 95/98/2000, Server 2003/2008, really, they need better namers)

I've got virtual PC on my current work G5 but my new iMac is on the way. At home i've got an MBP but have got a shitty old PC laptop as well... would just quite like the convenience of being able to test it from the MBP rather than having 2 laptops running

will check out some of the suggestions tho, thanks
