Collage Links/Suggestions
Howdy, I just got my hands on several retro (20's - 60's) magazines and newspapers... long story short, I am contemplating cutting these things up (by hand or through photography then use Photoshop) to create a collaged interface for my personal portfolio... My question is this: Does anyone know of (a) Non-cheezy Collage tutorials, (b) Specific Art Collage Forums (c) web-designer friendly retro collage tutorial... I guess I am looking to go a bit grungy, but still make good use of white space, so no dark backgrounds this time: uplifting, not dark and depressing. Also, I am not a noob when it comes to analog art, so the more advanced the tutorials and/or forums, the better. Side question: What are peoples thoughts on having a menu-system that is totally collage work (ransom note style), but then the body content is html text (example: the descriptions of portfolio items, or news entries.) Anyway, sorry if my questions are a bit vague... I have such a hard time coming-up with a layout that I am satisfied with... hopefully designertalk.com will boost my confidence and give me many inspirations. Cheers M |
