Pricing issues on web design construction?
Hi folks, hoping for some advice really, I asked a web design company to construct a site for me only when they gave me a figure I was a little set back to say the least. They quoted me 30k to construct the site which I thought was a little high. Would an average website cost this much, I can give you an example of what my site will be like, there is another site like this currently up and running but unsure whether i can link it here. Without linking it im not sure really whether you could answer the question, could sent it to anyone via instant message if not allowed to link it here. Any help would be great. |

I think you need to give us all the details of what you are looking to build with your web site / what you need it to do if you really want an accurate idea of what prices to look for. 30K doesn't sound like a far cry if you're the type of client that has wine taste and a beer budget. |

Unless the site has a reasonable degree of complexity, 30K's quite a significant figure. For a simple 5-page-advertise-your-business sort of thing, 30K's insane. For a custom-developed-social-network sort of thing, 30K would probably be in the ballpark. I think you can just type out links like google (dot) com, so we'll at least get the general idea. (I don't really know this forum's link posting policy atm) - Also, 30K in what currency? |

At my old company, we did sites that cost $55k USD. We did some for 40, 35, etc. It's totally a reasonable price for really large social networks, or complicated real estate sites, etc. Some of these projects would take over 6 months, and you have multiple people working on them, so $30k is completely reasonable for many projects. But, it's all about quality of work and the quality of the client. You can have India outsource the project for you for $5k, but you get what you pay for. Fringe Focus | Design Blog
