Unable to delete old files and folders on my remote directory

The message I received when deleting the files is 550 "name of my file": Permission denied.

This means you are not the owner of those files, and have no rights over them. Try a chown (if you have root access).

You mean that I cannot delete it because my hosting server has the some kind of code that does not allow me to delete it. My hosting server has not been very helpful since the problem started. Also I have this code 230: user logged in, access restrictions apply. Any way that I can access my remote directory and delete my old files and folders.

I will very much appreciated your reply.

Thanks very much.

You have to contact the host and tell them to change the owner of those files. It's most likely a Linux server, and you uploaded some CMS via FTP (your user) and some files via HTTP (probably user 'apache' or 'none'). If this is the case, you can also upload a simple Web File Manager and delete them via web (if you can't find any, PM me).
