Hello guys, girls, Web communities are becoming more and more popular. Sometimes, they're popular even if their design s**** really hard (ex: MySpace). Others are nice but have nothing exceptional (ex: Facebook) while some follow the current trends (ex: LastFM, Deezer,...). Design is not always a part of their sucess, but it usually helps a lot, especially when starting. What are your top community designs ever? Which one do you think deserves it? Let's hear (read) your opinion! FoxLeader |

Thanks for your opinions. Others are still welcome! mattbl34 >> +1 for Vimeo! Design is pretty different from the main to content pages (mainly for the colors since it still keeps the style) but I like it anyway! That's another kind of community but you're right. It's nice, too! |

Right, but it makes it attractive and helps people stay and explore. It puts some priority in the content and, something I find important: it makes it look professional not something done by a twelve years old guys. (Well, I did my first wannabe web community at about 12, but it didn't look professional so I guess that it supports what I've just said XD) |

reddit.com It's a work of genius. They've deliberately stayed away from the javascript sliding, fading 2.0 bullshit that is digg.com and kept the graphical elements to a minimum. At first site it's a slightly clunky looking, simple text based design, but it's an absolute case study in designing for your target audience. |

Although i don't upload videos there, i heart Vimeo. I did so when they just started out. Virb and Last.fm look nice too. Never used them as a member though. How are the user-interfaces and workings? And on that topic. What site has the better interface? |
