Hello all! I've been recently tasked with designing a new comprehensive website for a local high school. They already have an existing site with lots of content, unfortunately it is extremely poorly designed. The new site must incorporate general expected information on a school website, as well as a section dedicated for library resources. Anyway, I'm writing here to ask you all for your opinions as to what school / college / university websites you think are some of the best. I do not have any experience designing for this type of client and so I'm looking for just some of the best designs out there to see what's good and bad. Thanks in advance for any suggestions you may offer! |

For robdesign's case, maybe you can use some images with sport related items as a banner. For jayred: I think that commonly, solor scheme wise, just follow the school's logo's color combination. The site should look professional, but yet give an atmosphere of teamwork and togetherness. Take a look at this one: Temasek Polytechnic - Home or Macquarie University - Australia’s Innovative University Not my school, but I thought that they are quite decent. If the school very old (i mean that years that it schooled), you can give the website a bit of a grunge and old look. If the school is a modern kind, it should show a fresh look. Uh, I do hope that I am making sense here. Most importantly, the contents MUST be stragetically place, so that new students can navigate to what they need (such as the registration page, programme info...). |
