How to choose a suitable name for a web site
Hi everybody I'm starting a small 3d company. The business name is quite long, lets say it's something like: "The Young Thinkers". Can you guys advise what web name I should prefer:

Depends on what domain you can buy? Could you have any of the above? I'd be inclined to pick 1 without the 'the' - the more the concise the better - keywords in domains don't hurt either. The second one is unnatural and should be avoided. Using subdomains should be reserved for additional functions where necessary IMO. There are clever exceptions - eg del.icio.us.com No. 3 is OK but might be too generic, unless you want the freedom to expand into other disciplines. (added - welcome |

I agree with the other posts, would have said to not use "the" in the domain name, its a waste and not needed. Do not use the 2nd one, and avoid that trend that was cool a while back using dots in the domain name. As said, it hinders its use and understanding, and confuses certain users. You can always go for young-thinkers if youngthinkers isnt available. |
