Little help for a new guy? Making simple changes to a website
Hey guys, I was hoping you could help me with a bit of a problem I'm having with my dad's website... Previously, he employed someone to help with the website but that dude has vanished and we need to be able to edit the website. Please tell me where I go wrong in what I've done already: 1) Downloaded the site from the ftp server, looks like this: htdocs _private [folder] _vti_cnf [folder] _vti_pnf [folder] images [folder] index_files [folder] indexabs [folder] web [folder] index [browser icon] 2) Copied the htdocs file into the desired place and used dreamweaver to view the website. However, this doesn't work, says "To display this page you need a browser with javascript support." Now, you've probably spotted something that I've done wrong but I've been thrown in at the deep end here and really don't know what to do, I just want to be able to edit the website. Any help would be gtreatly appreciated! Mike |

Sounds like the site cannot be viewed without javascript, and as far as I know, dreamweaver doesn't use javascript in its editing mode. Its not that you did anything wrong, its just the nature of the site. I could be wrong though. |
