hi guys.. i am new to this forum.. web design is my main hobby... i have a question if anybody can help me... whats a good way to have a website that i done appear in google search... example.. i made a website for a pizzeria.. when i type pizza and the name of the town, it doesnt come up.. i added meta tags and put some keywords etc...

its not going to happen overnight. Can take months before you appear in any results.

make sure you have important key words within your page content especially in titles and links.

for google, backlinking helps, so get other sites to link to yours.

did you already submit your url to google ? that might speed up the process.

Meta tags have very little effect (if any) on where you appear in the SERPs.

You need:

• Semantic markup, with good use of headings.
• Strong use of the <title> element.
• Keyword density.
• Backlinks using keywords (submit to directories, etc).
• Time. New sites can take a few months to even appear in the results.

You can also check who is linking to you by typing:

link:designerstalk.com

into Google search. It will show you the context around who is linking to you.
