This is really good, should you need banner ad management :

http://phpadsnew.com/two/

phpAdsNew is an open-source ad server, with an integrated banner management interface and tracking system for gathering statistics. With phpAdsNew you can easily rotate paid banners and your own in-house advertisements. You can even integrate banners from third party advertising companies.

Don't you think that its ironic that a piece of open-source software like this needs a piece of proprietory software (IE) to run?

no. its for people who want to keep ther web content up to date whilst using a familiar interface and not having to enter any code. i doubt those people will be using anything other than win ie anyway. i think its a great tool.

Who its for is irrelevant though. To make a piece of open source software reliant on a piece of propriatory software is contradictory in its very nature to the idea of open source. To say that people will just be using IE is an assumption and nothing more.

are you sure about that? i don't think so. surely everything we (as developers) do is about who is going to use it. a tool such as this is written for the user?!?

my point was that people who will be using a tool like this are not coders but people who want to use a word style interface to update their web content. they ARE using windows and they ARE using ie.

(bugger, you made me use caps...)

Good to see that clients are still arses and demand high-priced work @ cheap prices outside the U.S., too!
