I'm sorry but...

Since the fall of Cre@te I never sorted my subscription out and have been receiving .net ever since.

Their so called HTML expert this month, Chris Schmitt (not Christopher Schmitt), is delving into CSS and telling the world either of the following is ok.

Code:
<span class="title">WELCOME</span> <b class="title">WELCOME</b>

Someone has definitely missed the point somewhere or at least the invention of header tags!

It brought back memories of a happening at uni recently. For some reason, I've argued this out with my lecturer, they started teaching people HTML in week 2 to use the font tag. Then in week 7/8 they intoduced CSS explaining this was a much better way of doing things - "Forget what we've taught you so far, now do it this way!".

This led to all kinds of confusion, the worst case being...

Code:
<font class="redText">

Is there any wonder the web's a mess! </drunken rant over>

The Computer Arts website isn't much better.
They have several web tutorials available on the site that really need to be ripped from the site.

Top of the list of their online 'Web & New Media' tutorials?

Nesting tables
We show you how to design modular pages quickly and easily using nested tables in Dreamweaver 4...

Scary.

It is a bit of a crap site, the tutorials are old aswell.
I site like that has the opportunity to be a great resource; archive every tutorial from the magazine etc. If the site was good as a standalone it might increase sales of the magazine itself.

And whats this all about on the main page ?

Hardly a great advert for a site teaching people design skills, looks like it was designed by the tea boy.

I like the over-abundance of the red star custom shape tool...

Open Photoshop > Press "U" (Custom Shape Tool) > OverUse the Star as above

lol, nice one oli.
