Website Designer/Developer

Jagex Ltd, developer and publisher of the MMOG RuneScape, is looking for a talented website designer and developer to join its online publishing team.

Working with our in-house technology and front-end websites, you would be responsible for the design and development of our public-facing websites.

Freelances/contractors also accepted.

Key duties include:
• Designing and implementing new websites with consideration for usability and functionality;
• Using your artistic approach to create unique designs that inspire our player community;
• Designing new websites from initial concept design through to implementation in HTML/CSS and production of style guides for future updates.

Requirements:
• Highly proficient in handcrafted HTML, CSS and JavaScript;
• Experienced with multi-browser compatibility and data size limitations;
• Able to demonstrate good functionality and usability through current online portfolios / sites (should be good examples of work, not solely Flash based sites);
• Excellent understanding of usability requirements and user-friendly interface design;
• Good 2D layout and graphic design skills;
• Proven track record of creating well designed commercial websites;
• Experienced in working with both static and dynamic content;
• Ability to produce graphical concepts;
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Also useful:
• Degree level education in a related subject;
• Experience with Firebug, AJAX, server-side scripting (eg PHP, ASP) all beneficial;
• A thorough knowledge of Flash.

Salary: £26k - £30k (negotiable, depending on experience) plus excellent benefits package including annual bonus, private healthcare and gym membership.
