what i would like to know is how all you guys go about designin your site in terms of the processes ie get breif from client,create mockup in photoshop

meet client for breif, create a shit layout in illustrator then hand it on to someone who knows what they are doing.

When I design a site, I use my infallible good taste and whatever I create goes across with the client at the first attempt.

Have initial talks with client. Talk about goals, features, any desired design elements, etc. Use design wisdom to create a mockup (keeping the site's eventual goals and purposes in mind).

Repeat through as many site iterations as the client deems necessary.
