how do you do pixel beleved boxes

I've always wondered, how do you do the pixel size bevels on boxes?

example:

on

cssremix dot com

I tried using the layer effects, but couldn't duplicate it.

Draw 'em with the 1 px pencil tool in Photoshop. Takes about 40 seconds to do each box if you include a tea break.

Lazy fucker!

Create a PSD with all of your final images/thumbs on separate layers and draw the outline, (with pencil as described above), on the top layer. This way you are not adding it destructively to each image.

Personally I'd use CSS though, (also as described above).

I got it to work with the a bevel layer style (change the highlight and shadow color to match the color of the box, the shadow being a little bit darker, inner bevel, everything 0 except depth which is 1%), now I can just copy layer style and paste them into my other layers.

Good. I'm glad you found a way to do it yourself. You might also feel a small sense of achievement which you wouldn't by using someone else's plug-in.
