well I dont slice in Photoshop but in psp you can save the slices as a file and then load them onto another picture so I reckon you must be able to do this in photoshop.

Had a look in image ready , to save a slice ::

[quote:b1c6051390]To save a slice selection (ImageReady):

Select one or more slices.
Choose Slices > Save Slice Selection.
Enter a name in the Selection Name text box, and click OK.[/quote:b1c6051390]

Its not possible in Photoshop.

Why?

I didn't think it was possible - shame as I have a huge amount of pages to layout and slice and naming/sizing needs to be spot on for CMS. Guess I'll just set up one initially and use it as a master. sigh.

i mean for laying up pages.

css not slicing.

I suppose if you have bannertop design ( heavy grahic use at the top of your web page ) then you would have to but i have stopped using slices a while back now as a way of building pages

when you have 800 odd page site slicing is the quickest and easiest way to ensure consistency between pages when getting stuff over to the development team - especially when you have a flow of freelancers working on things, a 75 page brand guideline document to adhere to and a deadline that shrinks by the day.

Such is life i guess.

You're describing the perfect situation for the use of css - pixel-perfect positioning, templates, seperating the content from the layout etc etc.

already there mate - but we are at some point shifting over to a cms system and need to start implementing a routine in which every graphic element is consistent.
