CSS Shade - *Proper* CSS only drop shadows
Guys, So, yesterday, in response to a thread I read around here sometime recently asking about drop shadows over a patterned background, and after meeting a client who wanted a similar solution, I developed a reliable, cross browser way to do transparent, graduated drop shadows over a patterned or non-uniform background. This method requires no hacks, no images etc. I’ve put up a blog post and a sample page at the following URL. If you could all take a look and give me any feedback, leave a comment or something, then I’d appreciate it. Yeah I know about that one... IE6 is causing me a few problems at the moment because it can only set the position of one corner of an element when using position:absolute. This means you can't get the shadows to stretch to their proper dimensions. I'm looking at a way to figure this out at the moment, without using expressions etc, as they are javascript, and thus outside of my remit for this project, and also can cause a massive performance hit if not implemented very carefully (Multiple pollings etc). Any help on this issue would be gratefully received. My signature sucks.
