embedding windows media into website
I want to embed windows media video into my site, that will use the microsoft streaming server, which is free. I am not sure if it only plays .asx files, and if so, can I convert to .asx from .wmv or .wma??? Also, it doesn't seem to appear at all in mozilla firefox. Is there code to make it work in firefox? Any help greatly appreciated! |

If you haven't got Flash download the trial and look through the components. They have some ready players, just drag the .flv into the scene and export to .swf. |

I had a meeting with an Israeli company today that my company is in talks with on creating a tie-up. The Israeli company has created some online software that has video embedded in it. They are using windows media player in it, so I asked if they had considered flash, as I prefer flash video myself. The guy told me that they had originally done it in flash, but found when they were selling to large corporations that many of them balked at it as they refuse to have anything with active x on company computers. It was news to me, but quite interesting. Sounds like something to think of when deciding whether to use flash or WMP - depending on your end user, WMP may be preferable in some cases. |
