Website design - PR company

Hi

This is a design in the works for my friend. She is going use the site for her PR/journalism freelancing.

I have a couple of reservations about it, but i'd like to hear what other people think first.

Thanks

I think you should have a contact button in the top nav, for convenience.
I like the Honeycomb, but I don't like the way that it stops abruptly.
Overall, I like the design, but my opinion is usually quickly contradicted.

Oh well, different tastes.

Don't forget that it's only in image format so when it becomes a web page it will stretch all the way across.

bless.

currently the 'be seen, be heard' font and placement looks terrible and the roundness of the logo contrasts the title font too much, which could be looked at. i hope you don't leave the navigation bar so plain, could use a bit of jazzing up, plus try a fade too off-white for the background with either a light blue or really light grey (akin to this site.) Get building, what is the content (aka the main part) going to look like?

I really like the concept. I like the way the page looks like the top is closer than the bottom. It's subtle, but it really helps guide your eye vertically down the page. I'm not crazy about the typography for the header. You should try to incorporate the logo and the type together. Maybe try some different colors and color combinations as well.

I'm curious to see what you're planning on doing with content.

I'd definitely change the title font, and add some colour (maybe yellow or something 'bee'ish).

I like the idea of the honeycomb too.

Keep us updated on how you develop the design!

Thanks for the feedback guys!

You highlighted my main concerns, it's too bland. Way too bland. I've been through so many iterations of this with my friend that creative block has set in! Got some ideas buzzing around now. I'd appreciate some feedback on the next version!

You have the basic design concepts down, but when designing a website you should always keep in mind the importance of grid systems. I have realigned/moved around some content on your site I feel looks much better due to the grid applied. I have also reduced the font size for the top navigation, I realigned the logo, realigned the bottom navigation, and extended the content area a bit so it all doesnt look so smashed. Feel free to use any of this if you like what I came up with..

Have a look:

I see it now, they are curves of wings, not legs. It isn't very clear mind, and something that you may need to revise. maybe start the wings on the back, not the side.

The text be seen, be heard needs to stand out more IMO.

Text that says 'be seen' should be more easily seen to emphasise the point.

Otherwise it is something of a visual contradiction.
