I use a php cms that lets them upload images, it uses php to resize or crop the image to fit the design, then stores the path to the image in a database for the front-end to display it. It sounds like a lot of work but once you've done it once the code can be re-used for almost anything. Hope this helps. |

Cool. Thanks a ton guys. I do have a PHP script set up for editing text in certian sections via a pulldown menu on a client page, but no luck with the image part! Is there a place I can get a copy of the code, and customize for myself. My PHP isn't the best, I'm actually going through some books right now. If you guys could direct me to something I can look at, that would be great. I think that is the route I'd want to go. I have recently purchased Studio8 and I'm going through setting up clients with Contribute, but that makes them purchase software, and then I get to be tech support...Yuck. Thanks again, and if you have the code I could look at that would be great! Jason |

If your still looking for a book, you might want to check out the book Beginning PHP 5, Apache, MySQL web development by Wrox Publishing. It has an entire chapter dedicated to manipulating images with PHP. Good luck. Richard |

There are a ton of open-source solutions that you can install on the site that allow you to style and the client/end-user to easily update the photos. Do some searching of what works best for your situation, but here are a few to start you off: Gallery http://gallery.menalto.com/ Expose (Flash base. Online version of Manager has strict PHP requirements for server.) http://slooz.com/trinkets.php?proj=expose CopperMine http://coppermine-gallery.net/index.php Hope that helps! -Kyle |
