motivation and me

All the guys working from home - do you find it hard to motivate yourselves to do anything (especially with the internet sat in front of you!) ?

It might just be me - I'm very distractable, if that's a word.

I'll set myself up in the morning with good intentions but then I'll go check out the few forums I post on, read my regular blogs, check the news sites and all of a sudden it's lunchtime. This seems to carry on all day until all of a sudden I hear the Eastenders theme tune!

I then find myself working into the early hours (which BTW is when I seem to get my best work done). Maybe I need to stop kidding myself, get on with other stuff during the day and then sit down fresh at night and get down to it.

I'm on the verge of starting the write myself 'things to do' lists which is something I never though I'd do.

Blogs are dangerous things for other reasons too. I refered to Joe Clark, the accessibility guy, as looking like an EastEnd gangster. The next week he quoted me on his blog!

There's no place to hid on the net

You're not alone smallbeer, I'm the same. I always assumed I was incredibly disciplined, but then I started working from home and my habits totally slipped - I end up getting up at 11am, starting work in the afternoon and carrying on until the early hours. I actually get far more work done this way, but lack of sleep is not the way to go. (Diving out of a deep sleep to answer the phone while frantically starting up my computer. )

My girlfriend is a [i:8c6b1d4350]proper[/i:8c6b1d4350] morning person. She frequently wakes me to run her to work and has the nerve to talk to me in the car!

the rooster in my backgarden is a morning 'person' it goes at about 4:45 in the morning, every day! One day somebody will shoot it - not me, we bought it hoping it to be a 'proper' chicken... so now it's just the responsibility
but the worst thing is to have to look out for the 'small black things' in the eggs...

I have to be up and out the door to run me boyf to the station at 6.45am - then I get back and crawl into bed and sleep until I can sleep no more - and I love to rub that in as the only advantage of being unemployed!!!!

Only draw back is not being able to sleep at this time of nite.....

it's a horny rooster you see... and the two chickens always seem willing... the black thing is the beginning of a chick! ...in fertilised eggs, that is
