Yep - I agree 100% - It's a nice list of things to post on our Office Wall though.

that's a bit of a lame article IYAM - most of it is common sense. the article makes one of the big mistakes straight away - Google AdWords advertising a competitor as Stuart Brown is in the game). this one is funny though: for an example of ugly UGLY sites they've singled out 2advanced for "overdoing it"

It may be common sense - but I have only been on the this board for about a week and I have seen multiple sites that break those rules.

most of the common sense went out the window in the dotcom bubble era and many sites are still suffering from those days. which leads to my own patented list of The Really Seriously Biggest Mistakes by Web Design Companies...

1. accessibility & usability (was that mentioned in the article??)
2. not learning from the mistakes of the past
3. not having a decent espresso machine in the studio

Yeah, most of it is common sense!

And they shouldn't even have to mention the last one about Background Music! Although you'd be surprised how many of my clients always ask for it!

oh yeah that's a top post - (makes note to never call arial as the priority font in a css font-family property ever again). should have started a new thread with this though ...

i thought it was a little bit helpful. I could see how someone starting out would take this into good use. Many new designers may use the typical "we" which I think was pretty helpful. The real professional freelance or work alone designers don't refer to we, but advertise themselves in their portfolio.
