Is it possible? Rotating text when hovering button

If this is possible it will be a good SEO strategy.
I want to know if this is even possible (and how)

I have menu buttons (graphic)
I have a block of text next to it.
When I hover over the menu buttons, the block of text will change according to it.
Text bloc cannot be graphic or flash. Text must be pure text so search engine can read them.

All text should be located in the same page file. If text is coming from a separate file (or database), it will be useless in terms of SEO.

Is it possible? Is this topic talked about and dismissed already?

I'd have to see a layout to see why you'd want to do this. You could do this with divs & and the CSS visibility attribute or even z-index but it would probably need some JavaScript mojo added in there for the onHover bit. From an SEO point of view you would really want straight text on-page content and you're starting to muddy the waters a bit there.
