C&C on layout

hey all,

Just some breif background on the post; I just finished my education and I am moving to Austria to live with my girlfriend - and I of course need a job and to really get the chance to promote my self I made a "quick" layout for a web site to feature my work.

I wanted a simple and easy to decode website that would not interfere with the work that is on - I am not a web designer nor have I no intentions to do so.

I was wondering if you guys could give me some on the fly Critics and comments to how you like it? is it easy yo decode where you want to go to get the information you need? how about the design?

Well thanks in advanced

ps the menu is not working since only the index page is up!!

looks fine... one thing from me, the orange SGR should be justified left on the first grid and leave content were it is!

Looks fine since the content is the focus. Don't think you need to put the white boxes around everything though. Looks a bit out of place to me.

Need to fix the menu for IE. When you rollover it makes the content area move at the moment.

thanks

hey thanks for the feedback...

as i said I am not a web designer and that whole cross browser thing as always been a pain in the ass hehe but that is also a fun aspect of it to get it to work proberly.
I will take a look at it...

and regarding the white boxes I agree to a certain extend - I do like that it does not become too empty - but that is a personal matter.
but again thanks for the feed back.

sgr

ps it looks fine in Firefox hehe

The page is broken in IE7 too. The layout is awkward. If you really want to keep it simple you'd have been better off using a 2-column CSS layout with divs instead of tables. Page look & feel is a bit sparse and really doesn't show off your design skills but I guess you want your work to do the shouting...?

After reading some of the other posts and threads on web design here on the forum it seems I am better off redoing it but with divs - I am not personaly pleased with a website that restricts people to have a spicific browser.
So during the days I will take a look at it and upload some preferbly early next week.
Thanks a lot for the help so far.

Cheers,

SGr
