Is anyone here salaried and overseeing 1 or more steady websites?

I'm wondering if everyone here is freelance, working for a firm, or if anyone is like me; working full-time for a website with a decent amount of traffic?

Those of you that run steady sites, how much traffic do you get?

Do you have in-house ad sales, or proxy ad sales?

just curious.

Salaried, Working for a semicon firm. We get decent amounts of hits in a day. Usually it's our competitors trying to hack in to our servers and steal stuff off, but we have a large consumer base that visits us regularly. All in all, several hundred hits a day.

We do in-house ad sales.

hehe, yeah, well we filter out internal IPs.

btw, i'm in no way trying to brag... i realize it might start to sound that way. I just notice that a lot of members tend to only do freelance, and there is a marked difference between freelance developers/designers and salaried, in terms of day-to-day work.

Salaried. Managing about 25 sites for my current job and easily double that many outside, on the side.

One or two get a decent number of page impressions per day - some get very little traffic but quite a good Click through.

Using Yahoo and Google Ads on a few - most are ad-free brochure for paying clients.

Seems like the majority of us are gettin' a lil sumptin' sumptin' on the side. The corporate job is to just maintain stability while I flux between comissioned and contributional work/pieces. Can't get too hoity toity with the stiffs at the office. Blech!

I'm an "employee" that gets a large slice of the takings.

I oversee websites until they are up and running, once they give me the cash I deny all responsibility.

I'm part of the (super small) team that oversees globeandmail.com -- website of Canada's national newspaper, the Globe and Mail. I primarily:
  • transform print mockups for web -- I build the HTML/CSS underpinnings
  • programming (get front end templates and backend Java classes to play nicely together)
  • JavaScript (with the exception of ads)

I'd like to do client work on the side but at the end of the work day I find that I just don't have the energy.

Anyone else working for a newspaper or major media outlet?

Freelance - Mainly Flash/Actionscript Developer for agencies of various sizes, with work ranging from fullflash sites to Rich Media & Regular Banner work. Also do elements for sites - interactive maps etc. Once it's done I'm paid and move on.

Aside from that I take on direct clients usually seeing projects through from start to finish and sometimes continue with maintainence. These are usually for small businesses/individuals and get a few hundred impressions a day at most.

My time is pretty equally split between the above. The freelance gets me cash, the direct stuff's usually more fun.

Freelance but one main client. This client takes up around 70% of my work, the other 30 go into small clients on the side (most of which are acquired through my main client).

Salaried designer for a well established agency here.

We have many smaller clients, and one huge one, which takes up most of my time. Through the larger client we do work for 6 well-known high street retailers.

Laid off designer for a mattress company. Pretty bitter about the way they handled me. Like they hired me to make some big changes and decided to switch me to contract after they were done. Pretty dirty if you ask me.

Salaried web designer/developer for defense contractor. We get several hundred (sometimes thousand) visits per day.

I manage about 5 websites myself (web designer = content editor!) including the intranet.

Salaried web designer (well... UI developer) for a large multinational company here. Working mostly on future projects for their various websites that will generate several thousand page impressions every day, maybe even more. Was freelance until around a month ago, but got fed up with spending more of my time chasing money than making it!
