Search Engines...

Just curious if somebody could point me in the right direction for submitting sites to search engines. Free ones of course , but not limited to that.

yeah, been there. Just curious if there were others to look into besides
the obvious ones.
Client talked to somebody who keeps talking about all these search engines.

As long as you have your site linked and also built 'properly' (no Flash splash pages, black-hat SEO, 100% graphics etc...) then the search bots will find you. It's like laying a trail of sweets to your door You have to have the backlink though and it's better if the link is from a reputable, high PageRank web page. If you can do all that then I would argue that there's no point submitting your URL to the search engines. In fact some of those sites are just spam merchants from what I've read.
