[quote:56bf80acc4="TriPixels"]Who is Jakob Nielson? What's the website?[/quote:56bf80acc4] Jakob Nielsen:: http://www.useit.com Probably the worst looking and unusable sitein the world... Oh the irony! My current Guru is [b:56bf80acc4]Jeffery Veen[/b:56bf80acc4] [The Art and Science of Web Design]. Same methodology as Nielson on usability, but still keeps it fun and more designer orientated. |

Users do not keep their attention on the page if downloading exceeds 10 seconds, corresponding to 30 KB at modem speed. Keeping below these size limits rules out most graphics. nah, just the scrawlings of a madman enclosed in outdated <FONT> tags... [/quote:4fa02e693f] Users also tend to pay little attention to pages consisting of nothing but reams of text, but I guess that doesn't matter either |

[quote:0776ff45df="dorian"]considering his scandinavian background - quite likely... his surname sounds danish anyway... guess there is no connection with k10k there I recall Nielsen once tried to sabotage the K10K site as a form of protest against "ungood userbilityness and accessibilitation". Of course, Nielsen being Nielsen, with his customary lack of imagination, this never amounted to anything more than him spraying 'Jakob's rules rule ok' in red paint across his own monitor. Poor Jakob. |

Cool... Well, I don't know who the powerplayers really are though... I don't know too many freelancers, or loan designers... I've been thinking about that kind of stuff lately... Oh well... How much longer before you click on my link?
