Table Issue - Help Needed

http://mangieris.com/man/home.html

that is the site i am working on. i am not sure what the issue is exactly. if you look at the top table there is a banner inside of the cell in row 1 column 1. when i view this table inside of dreamweaver or on IE on a PC the box is stretched to about 1000 pixels.

Even if I try to control the height & width. Not sure what the deal is.

If I view on Firefox or IE for the Mac it looks perfect.

can someone tell me where I am going wrong?

TIA (thanks in advance)

Code:
<td width="249" height="25"><img src="images/about.gif" width="100" height="25" border="0"></td> <td width="249"><img src="images/direct.gif" width="100" height="25" border="0"></td> <td width="100"><img src="images/contact.gif" width="100" height="25" border="0"></td>
Change the first two. The <td> widths are overriding the <img> widths in IE.

For future reference, using tables to lay out pages is an outdated hack that isn't necessary anymore. It's OK to use CSS for what it was invented for - controlling presentation of (X)HTML. Check the "Web Standards" forum for more.

Also, IE/Mac? People still test in that?

sadly i took a CSS class ... just haven't kept up on my knowledge. tables is easy and quick for me.

i changed the widths from 249 to 100 yet i still get the same result.

PS - i only test in IE/Mac since i don't have a PC with IE around me.

Well, IE/Mac and IE5, 5.5, and 6 for PC are all very different from each other.

IE/Mac is the most unstable piece of crap ever, Im glad they decided to leave the mac scene for the better. And ye, why even bother checking on that one, they are huge differents between the pc and the mac one.

And trainwrecka mate, if you have the time, do yourself the favour and catch up the css skills .. it will make your life easier, or atleast much better
