Linking to a page within a pdf document from html

I have been creating a CD-Rom which links dreamweaver html pages to pdf documents. I can easily link to a standard pdf doc but have been having problems linking to individual pages inside my pdf files. I have been using the link:

pdf/mydoc.pdf#page=3

When clicked the link opens up pdf file but to opening page rather than page 3. I have even tried linking to a destination inside the pdf doc (mydoc.pdf#nameddest=page3) but again the first page is opened up.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Yes... I don't know of any way to access a page inside a PDF document the way you would another html document. AFAIK, it can't be done.

I'm guessing that if 'pdf/mydoc.pdf#page=3' did not work for you, the PDF might be created in something older than Acrobat 7?

Well... I hadn't seen that document, but then I've never had to link to a specific page in a pdf before. Thanks It does look like the PDF has to have been done with Acrobat 7, just as Dusteh said.

This the link as in dreamweaver properies box (p2 being destination in acrobat file).

../PDF/hips-2006.pdf#p2

I have upgraded to acrobat 7 and i still cant get link to go to a destination or page within pdf doc. Very frustrating.

Not just upgrading to Acrobat 7, but rewriting the PDf itself with 7?
