yea loads slow as hell. I would probably attribute it to such code as this
Code:
<p align="left">&nbsp;</p> <p align="left">&nbsp;</p> <p align="left">&nbsp;</p> <p align="left">&nbsp;</p> <p align="left">&nbsp;</p> <p align="left">&nbsp;</p> <p align="left">&nbsp;</p> <p align="left">&nbsp;</p> <p align="left">&nbsp;</p> <p align="left">&nbsp;</p> <p align="left">&nbsp;</p> <p align="left">&nbsp;</p> <p align="left">&nbsp;</p> <p align="left">&nbsp;</p> <p align="left">&nbsp;</p> <p align="left">&nbsp;</p> <p align="left">&nbsp;</p> <p align="left">&nbsp;</p> <p align="left">&nbsp;</p> <p align="left">&nbsp;</p> <p align="left">&nbsp;</p> <p align="left">&nbsp;</p> <p align="left">&nbsp;</p> <p align="left">&nbsp;</p> <p align="left">&nbsp;</p> <p align="left">&nbsp;</p> <p align="left">&nbsp;</p> <p align="left">&nbsp;</p> <p align="left">&nbsp;</p> <p align="left">&nbsp;</p> <p align="left">&nbsp;</p> <p align="left">&nbsp;</p> <p align="left">&nbsp;</p> <p align="left">&nbsp;</p>

and unoptimized images.

If so, that's the cleanest MSOffice code I've ever seen.

This is from our intranet calendar. Don't worry, I'm working on a new intranet as we speak.

Code:
<td height="17" bgcolor="#eaeaea" align="right" style="height: 12.75pt;" x:num=""><span class="style13">1</span></td> <td bgcolor="#eaeaea" align="right" class="xl25" style13="" x:num="">2</td> <td bgcolor="#eaeaea" align="right" x:num="">3</td>
Hmmm. x:num is a new attribute to me!

Anyway, back on topic. It's fine from the US. Of course, I'm on a corporate network, so things are pretty speedy. If your friend is trying to run a business with this site, I'd recommend he hire a professional. It's nice of you to do your friend a favor, though.

It's pretty shabby, but it loads...

...dreamweaver has a 'clean up word HTML button' - as you can see it doesn't work - but I like the irony anyway...

'Clean up word html' - kind of sums up a job I had about 3 years ago.

Well, Dreamweaver has a built-in function to clean up Word HTML, but it tends to miss things like that. I've had people send me HTML files they did in Word and wanted me to put it on our servers for their site--- I have to get out my crucifix and holy water to ward those off.. ack !
