I just thought you may be interested in some stats from one of our sites. The client is a major new car retailer and gets over 10,000 hits a day, mainly from autotrader searches. Incidentally, the website is a fixed width 768px design, as are most of our designs.

Window Width:
Greater than 584 99%
Greater than 744 95%
Greater than 968 62%
Greater than 1096 19%
Greater than 1344 2%
Greater than 1384 2%

Resolution:
1024 × 768 59%
1280 × 1024 14%
800 × 600 11%
1280 × 800 5%
1152 × 864 3%
1440 × 900 1%
1400 × 1050 1%
1280 × 768 1%
