Shopping Sites

Hiya

I'm doing a shopping site for a client.

He wants it to be very stylish so i'm looking for ways that people have got around the limitations that a shopping site presents to create a great site.

Thanks.

I've got an e-commerce site comming up too. Not really my bag so I'm going to need to outsource.

How much should a respectful sized company expect to pay with aound 600 products?

The firm I work for specialises in ecommerce sites, so I guess i'm as good a person as any to answer this. Over a certain amount (you're talking 50 or so) the amount of products doesn't actually matter as they're all going to have to be content-managed anyway. You'll be looking at paying somewhere in the region of 7-15k upwards if it's a full straight-forward ecommerce site and you're going with a company rather than a freelancer. You might also have a monthly SLA to pay ontop of that for maintenance work, etc.

Of course the price will vary depending on the company you approach and the amount of work you're asking the company to do - if it's just the ecommerce side or if it's the entire site from scoping doc to completion.
