Research-Based Web Design and Usability Guidelines

Research-Based Web Design and Usability Guidelines

I wrote an extremely brief explanation of the book for anyone interested in researched usability and design information. The Research-Based Web Design and Usability Guidelines were created initially for cancer research information presentation by a community of web developers and usability specialists, and is probably the best one stop shop for the best web design advice and information on the entire net.

LOL if you are referring to MY site then yes, it is rather ugly in comparison to most. It's my first real foray into web design and it can only get better with time.

However, the reference itself is extremely handy I believe (even though it is in pdf form. There are those who dislike pdf from what i gather). Not enough information on the web goes through as extensive process that this reference has.

Indeed it is oh perceptive one. However, I am in the process of learning and incorporating this newly acquired information. I'm mearly SHARING what I learn that I think may be useful to others. Not everyone will find what I post useful, nor do I care.

BTW, your own personal site is riddled with invalid markup, smartass. Apparently that document is more useful to you in that respect that it is to me. If looks defined usefulness, all the P.O.S. flash sites would be content king.

And before you go pointing out the obvious, my documents DO validate, whenever I turn off yahoo hosting site statistics. Don't believe me, pull up the source, count the lines and check yourself.

I did a simple check with a link he provided. I saw 8 errors. Who cares, the point is, my post was simply to shed light on useful information that I thought noobs and vets could use. I didn't expect a pompus reply from a forum troll.

indeed! I myself prefer a quick html brief to loading a slow PDF in the browser.

Safari, by default does that, as does Firefox if I'm not mistaken. I dont do it deliberately as most of the time it takes forever, and larger files make me force quit my browser session anyways.

Hmm, guess I must have changed the defaults long ago (though I don't ever remember doing it). Change it, you should be downloading them to view locally. It's kind of the point on the whole (on the web at least, ignoring the print uses).

I did set to not load in the browser and it still does. It's what I hate most about pdf's. I love them to death in every possible way besides loading in the browser.
