I am using windows right now but I don't like it. I'm starting to lean towards apple because they're easier to design on. But, windows alway's copies apple. Apple came out with they're first operating system. microsoft followed with a similar one. |

What a load of ignorant crap, Apple did not bring out the first operating system that was the Xerox PARC, then after apple there was Tandy deskmate, Amiga workbench, GEM all of them windows operating systems. Microsoft was one of the earliest 3rd-party developers for the Macintosh, and actually got to use beta models of the first Mac before it was released to the world. Undoubtedly this influenced the direction of future releases of Windows. You don't say that every car manufacturer always copy ford for using 4 wheels and a steering wheel |

Hows an Apple easier to design on than a PC? Give us one example of how an Apple is easier. Does it hold the mouse for you? |

I'm happy with Ubuntu, personally, but I do programming mostly. Would quite like a powerbook though. Luke Redpath .::. Software Engineer .::. Reevoo - Real Reviews From Real Customers

I started on a Commodore Vic 20 and I made that ball bounce around the screen, and the birds flapping thing. Then I got a Spectrum, Atari ST, and then I bought a PC because I wanted to play Championship Manager 2 on it. I went to Uni and we had Mac's "oh these are great", everyone said. I became curious as to why there were hundreds of straightened paper clips strewn across the media suite. I soon found out as all the Quadra Macs we had started to sound off like a pretty chorus, "oh they are for rebooting". So what's great about the mac then? Soon after we got iMac's installed and then I understood why people believed that Mac's were great. It was like when I started smoking, it was cool. Apple Mac's looked cool. So I bought one. Sold it after a year as I discovered that there was no real support in the UK. As I started to become more serious about web design I realised that Dreamweaver is the same on a PC and a Mac, CSS and XHTML is the same. The only thing that is different is that when you return to the desktop the icons and start menu are in different places. My PC has crashed about twice in the past month. My colleagues Mac crashes every time he wants to create a PDF!!! So we can say what we like about our tools, but they are just tools and they just do a job. Having a mac will never make you a good designer/developer. Having a PC will never make you a good designer/developer. I use both, a Mac at work and a PC at home, personally I prefer the PC, but that's only because I have more faith in its capabilities. Someone please give me a real reason why Mac's are better? |

You have more faith becuase you are more familiar. I prefer to have an OS thats based on Unix personally. I prefer tha many capabilities that offers me. In addition, I like the design of not only the computer but the OS itself. It is much more intuitive than the PC. For instance, the dock, purely amazing. Sure, I could have the quick-launch bar, or whatever you call it, but that thing is fugly! My mac never crashes, probably becuase it runs on Unix again. And, I must say that besides games, which I don't play, PC's can't touch the mac in terms of software. I prefer the incredible selection of quality shareware/freeware that is available for the mac. But, I keep a PC around, so I can test out my design/development on IE. Other than that, its pointless to me. But, thats ok, its all about to change when apple releases the x86 distro of os x. PC users will begin to install it and use it and then they will see the advantages. There is going to be a paradigm shift soon in the OS industry. Either Windows will completely revamp or they will slowly lose market share. |
