Yep it is, you need to follow people you know and get followers back - I didn't realise that at first, bit pointless if you don't.

I started using twitter after i came from BarCamp Nashville, a huge web convention, and that's all they talked about. Apparently a lot of people have had success using it as long as you don't spam yourself.

So does anyone really use Twitter like a lot? I heard there was something about terrorists using it to plan bombings or some shit like that. =/

Twitter is okay, but most of the comments from people are dumb and worthless. I have found that LinkedIn is more useful if you are trying to get involved with professionals to get business going. It's a little harder to build a network of people, but that's good because your "connections" are then stronger and more worthwhile. Twitter is like a free-for-all...

I like twitter, but that might be because I'm ADD and 140 characters is all I can focus on at a time.

But then again, 140 characters is so frustrating sometimes.

Twitter is what it is. It's not trying to be a professional networking site, it can just be used as such if you want to. You need to use it properly to get anything out of it. It can be a free-for-all, but you can tune out the noise by only following people you're interested in.

Oooooooh, a new toy.

I'd love to use it, but it doesn't do too well with the iPhone. Three images and audio? Not great.

I just went through the forum and I'm now following a load of people on twitter. Don't be alarmed.
