Moo Tools

I've found this before, but I wanted to see if anyone has had experience with it, and if so, is it as cool as it seems?

uhh as cool as it seems?

on your own page you're using a lightbox script. which is probably using a library similar to mootools.

I am saying that MooTools has been around for a long time (relatively)
I also said that it is very useful and a great tool to use for making websites.

Is that a better way of writing that?

My point was, your comment could easily be misconstrued as "it's out of date" which would be misleading since it's under active development. Version 1.2 is currently in beta.

Furthermore, the other popular Jscript libraries (Prototype, Scriptaculous, JQuery) are all older, so when you say it "has been around for a long time (relatively)", I'm wondering 'relative to what?'

What I meant by old is that it has been around for several months and probably 95% of designers already know about it.

Sorry, I wasn't trying to say that it was out of date.

Anyway, back to the question...

Yes, it's a good library. It's main strength is that it's designed to be very modular, so you don't need to bog down your pages with as much unecessary code. You can build a custom library for each job that only contains the components you're using at the time. Other libraries offer some modular functionality but not to the same extent. Personally though, I would check out all the names in my previous post before you make a choice about which library is best for you.

MooTools is the best JS framework I've even worked with. I have used it a ton of sites. Take a look a site of one of my clients:

psdgator.com/orders/winn/

it uses mootools for the slideshow images on the right.
