Who cares? I'd say 'Logo 2.0' defines the shiny & reflecty logos only, where as faux-web 2.0 states the design ambitions to be fun with stripes, gradients and big letters which was overdone and became a cliché of itself with some top notch and some awfully over the top sites as with most things. web 2.0 should, if it has to, have denotations of a user-interactive web akin to wikipedia, youtube, forums & the social-network generation. |

Web 2.0 is about user interaction and not design. Essentially they are marketing terms meant to increase costs for clients who don't know any better. Logo 2.0 is nothing that I have ever heard of before. The web is the web, and doesn't change from version to version. |

Forgive me if im wrong but web 2.0 was formed when people discovered / created AJAX / Ruby which are new to the web. People felt that AJAX was a step forward from previous methods, such are bog standard javascript, they put the hype on it by calling in web 2.0 Then people started creating basic sites with oversized buttons, gloss and shadow effects on logo and put 2 and 2 together and got 5 ( web 2.0 design ) which in my eyes can't be futher from the truth since it's design that all basically look the same with a different color here and there. Then of course since you had this really cool new method of making sections of the site fold in, slide out and drag about, you just had to make it beta before it was in it's finalised stage, which we now know never get finalised or was always been "finalized" but they just like the look of the spikey circle with beta in the middle. |
