Sans serif that's NOT Helvetica
hey all, Helvetica is driving me mad...yes, it's a nice all-purpose typeface...timeless even...but there must be MORE! any recommendations of other nice sans-serif, all-purpose typefaces? ...that's not arial....or meta....or officina...or trade gothic.... Cheers, Tim |

Hmmmm...month old thread... Free fonts? Verdana is nice for web body text. Trebuchet works quite well for headings. Georgia? Times? Garamond? Open up Word (or Wordpad) and see! Quote:

I see. Well, I just opened my font list and looked for relatively common fonts. Never paid for it - it probably came with MSOffice. In which case, it might as well be free since I didn't pay for MSOffice (got free copy - legally - through work). |

I was gonna say Blue Highway too. And it's a freebie from Mr Larabie, at least it was when I downloaded it. These transport fonts have recently become very popular for headlines so maybe Larabiefonts is now charging for it. DIN is also very popular and there are some fun grunge versions you can mix in for some variety. |

Blue Highway still appears to be free - and it's rather nice for a free font. http://www.1001fonts.com/font_details.html?font_id=869 |
