It screams Emigre as do a most of their fonts - and I sometimes find that limits their use a little (If that makes sense). I've got a couple of Emigre libraries but never seem to use them beyond concept stage.

then maybe it's suitable... resembles the periodic table. what is used for that? have you done your research?
futura is nice and simple!
...the thing that gets on my'nerves' are those extra cutly bits - i think they try to be *too clever*...
will only show properly if it's large enough. and even then

I see what tomson means about screaming Emigre.
That's generally the reason why I also never turn to their stock first when searching for jobbing fonts.

However, i think Tarzana would look a lot 'less Emigre' in a non-red colour away from the Emigre site.

It's a competent font, if a little lacking in the way of regular body weights, but I'd happily trial it in situ to see how it sits.
I'd be inclined to think that the heavier weights will lack the sobriety for your context, but
I can imagine the lighter weights working quite well as a headings only face.

Completely agree.

Most Emigre fonts are very recognisable, look at Way out West for example. They do have a look and feel all of their own. But they also have some other less-emigre fonts too -Exocet is a good example, a very dark, gothic style and a million miles away from something like Way out West.
