What is the name of this lovely font
What the font didn't know this one, wasn't even close. Can anyone tell me what typeface this is? ![]() Now what's really peculiar about this typeface is the letter g. Sort of different. ![]() Extra points to SteveB if you can tell which Finnish company uses this typeface ubiquitously. |

It WAS Elisa and their Radiolinja. I have illegal copies of all the Elisa fonts, including that one, but I'm not sharing (or even using them). I worked for the company which did Radiolinja's in-house publications, so having the fonts at hand was a given. And a taken. So I claim my douze points, thanks. The first example must be one of the newish Microsoft fonts, but I'm not certain. |

SteveB, did you by any chance work at A-lehdet? I happen to be working there on an internship now and you can imagine my astonishment when I was just casually browsing through their tens of thousands of fonts on fontexplorer and I laid my eyes on a particular one called Radiolinja. I was just fucking astonished. I mean, I've been searching for this font for years and then all of a sudden it's there. They even had the typeface from Radiolinja's logo. Though admittedly Elisa had the typeface slightly altered when they acquired it, the lighter weights are the same but the bolder one's are way off. I much prefer the new updated look. |

I worked at Viestintä Oy Viisikko, right by Hietalahdentori. They produced an in-house magazine for Radiolinja 1998-2002 until Elisa stopped it to save a few pennies. When Elisa changed its advertising agency from whatever it was to whatever it is now, the font was altered slightly by the new ad agency too! I have the original version. I think the only visible change they made was to alter the dots over the i and j from round to square! But that made it a new font, apparently. As I said before, I don't use it but it's in my collection of fonts which I gloat over! I'd probably be in court for copyright infringement or something if I so much as used it in this month's beard poster competition! |
