I recently came across this website for a convention on Chinese design called China Design Now. It has made me interested in finding out more about Chinese typography, specifically more recent developments and trends. Does anyone know if Chinese graphic design is being categorized into eras like Western graphic design has been in books such as A History of Graphic Design? Anyone know of any good websites with historical information or blogs of designers and agencies in China?

Between Mao, and sixty or more years of communism as well as being closed off from the world, I guessing that designers and agencies probably dont have much of a history in China.

Actually, the first foreign ad agency was opened up by Carl Crow in the early 20th century. JWT was in China pretty early on also.
