What's wrong with Font Book that comes with OS X? I never had problems with it. I used Suitcase before but it started to give problems and of course they were all ironed out, IF you paid to upgrade to the latest version. Screw that. Font Book is sufficient for my needs anyway. You obviously have too many fonts if you're getting lost. I can't see how a font management app is going to help you if you still have lots of fonts. You'll still have to scroll through them to see what they look like. Might be a good idea to start picking a few of your favourites and listing them under "old reliables" for example. |

figure out you basic os install set (a google search should find you the list for your version of osx) - then remove the rest. or re- install the os and start a fresh linotype can sort fonts into a nice set of neat alphabetical folders for you too. stops a bit of the chaos edit. this might be of use: http://tb-112.ucdavis.edu/pdfs/Fonts1.pdf anti social marketing

With Suitcase you don't install the fonts from the off but turn them on and off on the fly when needed... I have a core set that are always activated then some that are only used for particular projects. This saves you from having to load EVERY font when you boot and when you launch an application such as Photoshop. Suitcase also has nice previews, either a full alphabet or your own paragraph or word/s which is great for trying out fonts for logos, headers etc. But you don't have to take my word for it - download a free trial from Extensis and see if it hooks you the same way as it has me. Here's a list of standard fonts that you should keep installed the normal way - add the rest of your collection to Suitcase for the best experience. |

Thanks guys! Well I found on linotype app that it as a feature to remove all non-system fonts from the fontbook! It's all clean now! But it saves all of them on a folder... From now on I will pick up the font.. install for what I need, then remove it after work! |

Assuming the fonts you downloaded are freebies (are you a thieve ?) you can move most of them to trash. Fonts are like cologne: A bad choice speaks louder than a good one. Justin Feinstein
