decent program to browse fonts on your system?

looking for a good, hopefully freeware program for windows xp. it should be able to preview installed AND non-installed opentype/truetype/adobe fonts from various sources (dvds, file directories, etc). install and uninstall fonts at a whim.

i currently use fonthit font tools and it would be perfect except it crashes all the time. suggestions?

Give these a try. I've used Fontloader for the past five years, and it does what it says on the tin.

Got Suitcase at work.. seems to do the job, although its forgotten my font folders on occasion. You just turn fonts on and off within suitcase and they are immediately seen by any other programs.

I've got Suitcase Fusion, better than earlier versions and I've had no problems with it at all. Recommended.

I've always used The Font Thing It's free and does exactly what you expect of it.

When it is, it'll most likely be the one you want.

On the mac it blows everything else away.
